Lygdamis of Halicarnassus
Lygdamis ( Greek Λύγδαμις ; † around 453/450 BC) was at the time of Herodotus dynast over the Polis Halicarnassus .
Lygdamis was the son of Pisindelis and grandson of Artemisia I. During his reign there were two attempts to overthrow. The historian Herodotus was involved in both . While the first attempt failed, the second attempt succeeded a few years later.
