Lyndon Sean Trott (born July 17, 1964 in Saint Sampson ) is a British politician who was Chief Minister of Guernsey from 2008 to 2012 .

Life

After attending school, Trott graduated from Elizabeth College and then worked as an accountant in a bank and in a construction company. In 2000 he was first elected a member of the States of Guernsey , the Parliament of Guernsey, and has represented the constituency of St Sampson’s there since his re-elections on April 21, 2004, April 23, 2008, April 18, 2012 and April 27, 2016 . At the beginning of his membership in parliament, between 2000 and 2004, he was a backbencher member of various committees, such as those for administration and sea fishing.

2004 Trott of Chief Minister was Laurie Morgan to Secretary of the Treasury (Treasury Minister) appointed to his cabinet and has held this function under his successor Mike Torode to 2008. On May 1, 2008, he finally solved Torode as Chief Minister of Guernsey, and held that post until his resignation on May 1, 2012, after which he was replaced by Peter Harwood . He was backbencher again between 2012 and 2016 and was now a member of the committees of the States of Guernsey on trade and employment, constitutional issues and parliamentary relations in the Commonwealth of Nations . At the beginning of March 2014, he decided not to run again for the office of Chief Minister. In December 2016, he became Chairman of the Board of Directors of Guernsey Finance and is also a member of the boards of various other companies.

After the abolition of the office of Chief Minister and the ministerial system of government, the Policy and Resources Committee of Guernsey was established on May 1, 2016 , with Gavin St Pier as the de facto Chief Minister as chairman . Trott took over the office of deputy chairman of this committee and thus became de facto vice chief minister. He is also a director of the financial services company Enhance Group.In February 2017, he faced allegations of discrimination against people with disabilities , which he defends against in the media.
