The Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge is a free-swinging rope bridge for pedestrians within the public Lynn Canyon Park in North Vancouver , British Columbia , Canada . It is around 50 meters (166 feet) above the valley floor and was privately built in 1912. With a total length of 48 meters, it spans the Lynn Creek. It consists of steel cables and wooden planks anchored in the ground.

The free-to-walk bridge in the middle of 249 hectares (616 acres) of lush rainforest connects the extensive hiking trails on both sides of the canyon and is part of the Baden-Powell-Trail , which was named after the founder of the worldwide scouting movement , Lord Baden-Powell . In earlier times ten cents ( CAD ) were levied on the bridge to maintain the bridge's condition.

Not far from the bridge is a picnic area and the Lynn Canyon Ecology Center, which has been in existence since 1971. The bridge and park are popular with families, school classes, hikers and sightseeing tourists.

From the bridge upriver, the so-called 30 Foot Pool can be reached after about ten minutes on foot, whose emerald green, crystal clear, cold water is a very popular attraction for visitors, especially in summer. Calculated from the parking lot, the pool is about fifteen minutes away. Swimming is possible there, but the water temperatures are only suitable for hardened natures.

Also within easy reach are the Twin Falls, about twenty minutes away down the river, over which a wooden bridge leads. The Twin Falls Loop describes a 40-minute circular walk that leads from the parking lot over the rope bridge, to the waterfalls, to their wooden bridge and back to the parking lot.

For sightseeing trips with limited time, the local highlights Capilano Suspension Bridge , Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain can be easily combined.

Longer hiking trails lead to the Lynn Headwaters Regional Park in the north, the Inter River Park in the south and the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve in the east. The latter was previously known as the Seyour Demonstration Forest.
