The M & A REVIEW is the first German-language journal on the M & A sector. It was founded in 1990 by Günter Müller-Stewens from the University of St. Gallen . It is aimed at people working in the M&A sector in German-speaking countries. It has been the official publication organ of the Federal Association of Mergers & Acquisitions eV (bm-a.de) since 2015. The editors have been Christoph Schalast ( Frankfurt School of Finance and Management ) since 2016 and Florian Bauer ( Lancaster University ) since April 2020 . Since January 2020, M&A REVIEW has been published by Stefan Schneider, who has been with the magazine since 2017, and M&A Media Services GmbH.

target group

In addition to board members, managing directors, supervisory boards and advisory boards, executives in strategy and M&A departments of companies are among the readership. In addition, partners, employees and representatives of management consultancies, investment banks, M&A boutiques, auditing, tax consultancy and law firms that are active in the area of M&A are addressed.

Content spectrum

The content spectrum of the M&A REVIEW includes practice-relevant legal and business issues along the M&A process. In addition, future-relevant topics such as the digitization of the M&A process, but also how digitization is changing M&A, are dealt with.

Guiding principles

As of April 1, 2020, Florian Bauer, who researches and teaches on the topics of strategy and M&A at Lancaster University (UK), together with Christoph Schalast, who is Professor of Mergers & Acquisitions, Business Law and at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management European law has taken over the editing of the M&A REVIEW. Florian Bauer focuses on economic topics, while Christoph Schalast focuses on legally related topics. A common concern is, according to the company, accompanying the digitization of the M&A process and promoting new topics such as blockchain or artificial intelligence (AI). In addition to the content orientation, new online formats are also to be promoted.

Available platforms

In addition to the trade magazine M&A REVIEW as a print version, the content on the website (ma-review.de) is available in German and English.
