The MÁV In was a fast train - Train Locomotive of the Hungarian State Railways MÁV.

In 1900, the MÁV had to think about purchasing new express train locomotives again, as the aging series MÁV Ia and MÁV Ie could no longer cope with the increasing train weights. A wet steam composite locomotive ( MÁV Il ) as well as a wet steam twin variant (MÁV Im) were therefore ordered in Budapest .

The boilers of the two variants were the same, but compared to the previous types (Ia, Ie, ...) they were larger and therefore more powerful. It had an inner frame and an outer engine.

Since the twin locomotive performed worse in the comparisons with the Il 801, no reorders were made.

In the second MÁV scheme, it was classified in the Im category with the number 801. In the third scheme valid from 1911 it was then designated as 202,001.

In 1910 it was converted into a superheated steam locomotive (like the compound machine Il 701), which increased its performance by around 40%.
