Möckerchen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Möckerchen was a measure of volume in Saxony . The old Meeraner measure , a grain measure since around 1653, corresponded to about a quarter of a mason and was the so-called interest measure for the “clergy”. The term is said to have its origin from the Wendish Mierka (cf. Sorbian měra , 'Maß') and stand for Mäsel, Mäßchen, Nösel or Nösel Maß.
