Murderous dinner party

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Murderous Dinnerparty is a German crime series that is owned by Blaubart Verlag . The publishing house and the series were founded in 2005 by Christiane Fux and Alain Fux in Munich .

So far ten crime games have been published in German and English.

Gameplay

The games are played in a round by six to eight people. Usually a previous murder has been committed and the other players are the suspects. The aim of the game is to find the culprit. There is always a clear, logical solution. The voice of an investigator is played on a CD (recently also available as an MP3 download) at the beginning and after the individual rounds of the game. This gives information about the crime and the suspects. In the end, the investigator resolves the case.

Two roles (one male and one female) are optional and do not necessarily have to be filled. The publisher also provides two additional roles for rounds of ten people. These are out of the question as suspects.

The other players receive costuming suggestions with their invitation, but otherwise do not need to prepare for the game. At the beginning of the game, all players receive role booklets with information about their role and instructions for the individual game rounds. Some text suggestions are included in the booklets, but they do not have to be presented verbatim. Half of the game scenes are improvised on the basis of information received. The murderer (or the murderess) only finds out towards the end of the game that he was the culprit.

The game is accompanied by the host as a moderator, but he can also take on a role himself. The host has a party planner available for orientation and also to prepare for the game. This also includes menu suggestions and recipes. They are tailored to the respective case and designed so that the cooking processes are compatible with the game.
