Seagull metal construction kit
Möwe Metallbaukasten were toys made by Mönninghoff and Weiss that appeared immediately after the Second World War .
After the end of the war, some companies that had metal material available looked for new business areas. Since the long-established Märklin company was temporarily unable to deliver its metal construction kits, Mönninghoff and Weiss also started manufacturing a metal construction kit. Under the name “Möwe Metallbaukasten”, two small nickel-plated construction sets with perforations that corresponded to the Märklin standard came onto the market. However, they were not a great success because after the currency reform in 1948, Märklin was able to deliver again, making it market leader again. Möwe therefore stopped producing its boxes in 1950.
