Múlaþing

Múlaþing is a new community in the east of Iceland .

On October 26, 2019, the voting on the merger took place in the municipalities of Borgarfjarðarhreppur , Djúpavogshreppur , Fljótsdalshérað and Seyðisfjarðarkaupstaður with the following result.

On June 27, 2020, the day of the presidential election , the new name was voted on. The other names that were available were: Drekabyggð, Austurþing, Múlaþinghá, Múlabyggð and Austurþinghá. There were 67 suggested names.
