American Journal of Nursing

The American Journal of Nursing (AJN) is an American nursing journal . The articles that appear in it are peer-reviewed and deal with all topics of nursing science . The magazine first appeared in 1900 as the association magazine of the Associated Alumnae of Trained Nurses , which later became the American Nurses Association . Today the magazine is published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins . In 2009, the AJN was selected by the Special Libraries Association as one of the 100 most influential journals in biology and medicine for the past 100 years. Isabel Hampton Robb , Lavinia Dock , Mary EP Davis and Sophia Palmer are considered the founders of the AJN
