The Mühlenbahn Großbauchlitz is a former overhead line truck operation (then still called Gleislose Bahn ) in what is now the Döbelner district of Großbauchlitz in Saxony . The 1.020-kilometer route was opened on May 17, 1905 and operated exclusively for freight traffic . It connected the state train station Großbauchlitz (called Döbeln Nord since 1932) on the Riesa – Chemnitz railway line with Günther's mill on the southern outskirts.
A tractor- like towing vehicle and several two-axle trailers were available for transporting grain to the mill or flour and bran from the mill . In 1914 the mill railway was finally shut down and replaced by a siding of the Royal Saxon State Railways .
The railway was built and operated according to the so-called Schiemann system , developed by the Saxon company Society for Trackless Railways Max Schiemann & Co. from Wurzen . A special feature of the system was the low voltage of only 130 volts DC , usually trolleybus systems were operated with voltages between 500 and 600 volts.
