Mülhauser type

The Mülhauser type is a type of building developed in Mulhouse for workers' houses. There are four apartments structured around a cross floor plan with a separate entrance in a square building. It was first built there for the potash mining workers and was shown at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1855 . In the Ruhr area it was mainly distributed by Harpener Bergbau AG . It replaced the simple Kotten as the standard.
