Granola Aslan

Müslüm Aslan (* 1974 in Nusaybin ) is a Kurdish poet. His three books were published in Turkish.

Life

Aslan attended elementary and middle school in his hometown and from 1990 also the grammar school there. In 1991 he was arrested on political grounds and spent 10 years in Diyarbakır Prison . Aslan is a member of the Kurdish PEN Center and the Association of Authors / Writers of the Kurds in Diyarbakır.

Both the situation of the Kurds in Turkey and his grandfather had a major influence on Aslan's desire to write. His grandfather's love for the Kurdish poet Cegerxwîn led Aslan to read the writer's works intensively. At first Aslan wrote mostly poetry, then in prison he also wrote prose. His first poems were published in HAWAR magazine. In 2001, Aslan was released. In the following year he took over the editorial responsibility for the magazine Ütopya .

In 2004 the Roza Kültür ve Sanatevi cultural center was opened in Nusaybin and since then the two magazines Dem Dergisi and Nûbîn have been published.

Aslan's poems, writings and other works have been published in magazines such as Güney Dergisi , Ütopya, Yarati , Hayal Dergisi , Tîgrîs , Kovara W , Tîroj . Arjen Arî has given space in his book with the name Bakûrê Helbestê (Poems of the North) / Antolojiya Helbesta Bakûr, and other poets, also Müslüm Aslan .

Müslüm Aslan's poems were set to music and sung by the musicians Diljen Ronî and Raperîn .
