MBK Booster

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The MBK Booster is a scooter model from MBK , a subsidiary of the Japanese Yamaha Motor . It is identical to the Yamaha BWS .

The model is considered the most popular scooter model in France. Like the MBK Stunt ( Yamaha Slider ), the MBK Booster has an air-cooled Minarelli engine with a vertical cylinder (until 2001). All newer models have a 180/190 mm perforated fixed calliper disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear . Wide tires should also enable off-road driving. The scooter has a centrifugal clutch and a continuously variable automatic transmission.

Different models are offered, such as the MBK Booster next generation or the MBK Booster Rocket . The best-selling version is the model with 49.7 cm³ and 2.7 kW (about 3.7 hp).

The booster offers a little bit of foot space for people over 1.75 m. In addition, the consumption of just under five liters per 100 km is quite high. The gearbox has a short ratio, so only speeds of up to around 60 km / h are possible in the original state. The motors are considered to be robust and low-maintenance.

Except for the crankshaft, cylinder (including fan cover) and exhaust, the parts of the vertical and horizontal Minarelli 50cc automatic engine are compatible with each other
