The company was founded on April 12, 2006. Directors are Hao Wang, Jingmin Yu and Weiguo Cui. It is a subsidiary of SAIC Motor . Until the spring of 2009, the English subsidiary was known under the name NAC MG UK and belonged to the Nanjing Automobile Group , which has since been bought by SAIC.
The company received parts from China for final assembly of automobiles .
The final assembly with 25 employees was stopped in autumn 2016. The SAIC Motor Technical Center (SMTC) is still located in Longbridge, where the models of the Chinese brand MG are designed and developed by 400 employees. The company continues to exist as a sales company for the Chinese car brand MG .
