MMC 3000pro

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

MMC 3000pro (also ELine 1200 EC7 ) is a multimedia system in passive building cabling, which enables the parallel use of different media via structured building cabling: data, voice, images and also TV transmission. The mating face was developed by the BKS company in Switzerland and sold under the name MMC 3000pro. The product was also offered worldwide by Leoni Kerpen under the name ELine 1200 EC7.

Multimedia up to 1.4 GHz via twisted pair

Schematic representation of a multimedia system

The principle of paired shielding was the inspiration for the chamber system of the MMC 3000pro plug connector. Due to its 4 individually shielded chambers, it is an ideal continuation of the individually shielded S / FTP cables. Cables and connectors form a perfect symbiosis: 4 pairs, 4 chambers with GHz performance. The advantage is obvious: through consistent separation of the signal paths in an optimally coordinated system, the possibilities of use are expanded to an unknown extent.

So it is possible to use two data services of classes A to D at the same time with just one cable and one socket. But different services such as telephone and data can also be operated in parallel without the risk of NEXT problems. These possibilities are summarized under the term "cable sharing" or "service sharing".

The transmission of analog CATV services via twisted pair is a technically very demanding task. In order to be able to transmit all channels, transmission frequencies of up to 862 MHz are required - this requires the system to have the highest power reserves, especially good attenuation properties.

MMC 3000pro was specially optimized for this application during development and, with the current product range, provides extensive tools for the transmission of CATV signals.

The connector consists of a zinc die-cast housing with a refined surface. The full metal design guarantees the best electro-mechanical properties through high precision and robustness. The small socket allows the use of up to three ports in a wall outlet box and up to 48 ports on a height unit in the control cabinet. This is an advantage, especially in data centers with limited space.

The performance

MMC 3000pro / ELine 1200 EC7 is designed for applications according to class F A or higher. The NEXT still has large reserves even at 1GHZ. The cabling meets the requirements of the Alien Crosstalk with great certainty. The coupling attenuation meets the additional requirements of Class F A . In this way, the prevention of alien crosstalk ( crosstalk ) is achieved "by design" and does not need to be measured in the installation. This has the advantage of increased profitability. However, the MMC 3000pro / ELine 1200 EC7 is not standardized, resp. not standardized. In contrast to the Tera connector from Siemon or the GG45 from Nexans, the features and dimensions of which are described in international ISO / IEC standards and in the EN, the MMC 3000pro / ELine 1200 EC7 is a proprietary connector.

External influences from neighboring transmission channels are avoided and at the same time suppressed by the double shielding of the S / FTP cables and the modular shielded connection technology. The alien crosstalk is attenuated with> 120 dB (factor 1,000,000).

The MMC3000pro is also suitable for using Power over Ethernet plus. When "plugged under load", the spark forms outside of the functional contact during operation. In addition, it has lower contact resistance and is therefore suitable for continuous operation of 30 watts. In combination with high-quality S / FTP cables, for example AWG22, the temperature increase in the cabling section is below 5 ° C.
