The MON-50 ( Russian Мина противопехотная, Осколочная, поражения Направленного, управляемая d. E. Anti-personnel mine, sliver, directivity) is an in the former Soviet Union produced anti-personnel mine , of the forces of the Soviet Union and the rest of Warsaw pact was used. It is similar in shape and appearance to the US M18 Claymore .

The lead case is made of brown or green plastic and is evenly bent backwards. On the top of the mine there is a sighting device and two ignition channels for detonators. The mine can be laid in the field with a bipod or attached to trees with the bracket. It is approx. 360 millimeters high, 226 millimeters wide and 66 millimeters deep, including the bipod and detonator.
The leads and accessories are packed in a wooden box of six leads, three holders, three carrier bags and six containers for transporting detonators.

After triggering the detonator, the booster charge is activated and the main charge is initiated. As a result, the approx. 500 cylindrical splinters are shot about 50 meters in the direction indicated by the arrow.
The mine can be remote-ignited electrically (ÄDP-r detonator) or triggered by a tripwire (pull detonator of the MUV series or RO-1). The WZD-6Tsch timer can be used to set a release time of 15 minutes to six hours.

After disconnecting the power source and short-circuiting the line, the igniter can be unscrewed. MON-50s with time detonators are detonated without contact for safety reasons.
