MPC55xx

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The microcontrollers (MCU) of the MPC55xx series are manufactured by freescale Semiconductors and are intended for automotive applications. These microcontrollers have been available on the market in numbers since 2006 and are intended to be the successor to the MPC5xx series.

Equipment of the MCU

  • 32bit PowerPC CPU
  • eTPU (additional core for timing tasks such as PWM )
  • FM PLL for generating the chip-internal clock (up to 132 MHz) from an external clock source (8-20 MHz)
  • MMU (Memory Management Unit)
  • 40 channel AD converter
  • Nexus interface ( JTAG interface)
  • internal SRAM : 48–128 kB
  • Flash memory : 786 kB (MPC5533) to 3 MB (MPC5566)
  • CAN interface
  • LIN bus interface
  • Types available with Ethernet (MPC5553 / 5566/5567)
