MS Sans Serif

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

MS Sans Serif is a sans serif raster font.

It was first supplied with Windows 1.0 , at that time under the name Helv . In Windows 3.1 the font got its current name and became the standard system font, in Windows 2000 it was finally replaced by Tahoma .

Windows 2000 contains a vectorized TrueType version of this font, called Microsoft Sans Serif , which is still used in Windows for dialog boxes to this day. In addition to Latin characters, it also supports Greek, Cyrillic, Hebrew, Arabic and Thai.

Microsoft Sans Serif was also included with Mac OS X 10.5.
