MTV overdrive
MTV Overdrive is the broadband video channel of the music broadcaster MTV .
The user can choose between excerpts from MTV shows such as Pimp My Ride or MTV Made , watch performances from live concerts or watch music videos according to the traditional MTV program. The German version of Overdrive has been available on mtv.de since 2006.
The aim of the broadband channel is to market the program on as many platforms as possible. It is also a response to the increasing number of internet music channels such as tunespoon.tv .
The material on the international version of MTV Overdrive is much more extensive than on the German version. However, most of the videos have the note "Copyrights restrict us from playing this video outside the US", which means that the copyright of the videos only allows MTV to make them available to Internet users in the USA.
