from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

M is a programming language developed by Microsoft as part of the Oslo project . M is a domain-specific language for describing data models. The language can only be used in conjunction with the Quadrant development system and Microsoft SQL Server . Furthermore, metadata generated from the model can be generated in the XML dialect XAML for use in other programming languages. Some of this data can be used by the Microsoft System Center to monitor the behavior of applications at runtime.

Bill Gates first mentioned M in his speech at TechEd 2008 (June 2008).
