Under the name MaK 600 D , the MaK company built four-axle diesel locomotives with rod drives from 1953 . A total of 58 copies had been built by 1961. These are the first and also the least powerful locomotives of the MaK company's first post-war type range, known as the MaK rod locomotives .
The first 39 locomotives built up to 1956 had a length over buffers of 10,600 mm. One of them was built for a gauge of 1,067 mm. The 19 locomotives built from 1957 onwards had a length of 11,360 mm.
The MaK 650 D was built as a successor series from 1958 .
From the 600 D in its original, short design, the V 65 was developed for the DB.
technology
The built-in MaK MS 301 A engines produce 600 hp (442 kW) at 750 rpm. It is a low-speed marine diesel engine with 6 cylinders in an in-line design. Depending on the type of gearbox, the locomotives reach speeds of up to 68 km / h with a service weight of 46 to 60 t. The tank capacity is 1500 liters.
commitment
A total of 19 locomotives went to Cuba; nine locomotives were delivered to Turkey. The largest buyers in Germany were the Altona-Kaltenkirchen-Neumünster railway company and the Westfälische Landes-Eisenbahn AG , which each received three locomotives.
Seven locomotives are still preserved today. One of them is the V 65 "INGE" from Brohltal-Schmalspureisenbahn Betriebs-GmbH. It was delivered to the Ahaus-Enscheder Railway in 1958 as the "D 05" .
