Mabaan is one of the Luo languages that belong to the West Nilotic languages , which in turn are part of the Nilo-Saharan language family .
It is spoken by around 50,000 people in Sudan .

The Mabaan should not be confused with the Maba, which also belongs to the Nilo-Saharan language family . Maba belongs to the branch of Maba languages , which are called Maban languages in English .
