Mad'House

Mad'House is the name of a former Franco-Dutch dance project. It was launched by the two DJs Bambi Mukendi and Stéphane Durand . The Turkish-born singer Buse Ünlü was won to reinforce it . The name is formed from the abbreviation for Madonna (Mad) and house music.

history

The first joint recording, a cover version of Madonna's classic Like a Prayer from 1989, is based on a bootleg that circulated through clubs in Europe. After its commercial release in the spring of 2002, the single penetrated into the top positions of the charts in numerous European countries. (Two other versions of the song, based on the same bootleg, were also in the charts.)

After this success, the producers of Mad'House pursued the concept further and released further cover versions of the Madonna hits Holiday and Like a Virgin as a single. Finally, in the fall of 2002, the debut album Absolutely Mad was released with further Madonna covers. At this point the concept was already worn out, so that the album hardly sold and no further publications followed. The band is counted among the one-hit wonders .
