Maeve O'Brien-Kelly

Maeve O'Brien-Kelly (* 1930 in Dundalk ) is an Irish author. She writes under the pseudonym Maeve Kelly .

Life

She was born the daughter of a court clerk. Her mother was a nurse. From 1936 to 1948 she attended the Convent of Mercy School in her birthplace. Between 1951 and 1956 she trained as a nurse in London and Oxford , which she completed with state exams. From 1958 to 1973 she ran a farm with her husband.

Awards

In 1972 she received the Hennessy Literary Award .
