The Mafa (or cheat Matakam,) is a Chadian language , in North Cameroon in the department of Mayo-Tsanaga and in Nigeria in the state of Borno is spoken.

Mafa is a Chadian Biu-Mandara language and, like the other languages of the Chadian language group, belongs to the family of Afro-Asian languages .
