Magdalena Wunderlich

Magdalena Wunderlich (born May 16, 1952 in Großhesselohe ) is a former German canoeist . She was third in the Olympic canoe slalom in 1972 .

Wunderlich, who competed for MTV Munich in 1879 , was German youth champion in whitewater in 1970. In 1971 she won the German slalom championship. At the whitewater world championship in 1971, Wunderlich took second place behind Ulrike Deppe in the individual ranking , and the German team with Deppe, Wunderlich and Annemarie Amslinger won the team ranking . The canoe slalom was Olympic for the first time at the 1972 Olympic Games . Ulrike Deppe, Gisela Grothaus and Magdalena Wunderlich competed for the Federal Republic . While Deppe was only seventh, Grothaus with silver and Wunderlich with bronze provided two German medals behind Angelika Bahmann from the GDR. In 1973 Deppe, Grothaus and Wunderlich won the team championship together at the white water world championship. 1974 Wunderlich was once again German champion in canoe slalom.
