Magdeburg Sports Association

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Magdeburg Sports Association (MSV) was a local football association in the city of Magdeburg .

history

The MSV was founded on February 24, 1903 by the FuCC Cricket-Viktoria 1897 Magdeburg and the SC Germania 1898 Magdeburg . Both clubs had resigned from the Association of Magdeburg Ball Game Clubs (VMBV) on the same day due to disputes , as they saw themselves at a disadvantage compared to other clubs. Furthermore, SC Fortuna 1901 Magdeburg and FC Eintracht 1902 Magdeburg joined the association.

From mid-March to April 1903 a diploma championship of the first and lower teams was held. The master is unknown, presumably the competition was terminated prematurely.

After the Magdeburger Ballspiel-Vereine association had accepted the demands of Cricket Victoria and SC Germania, both clubs rejoined the VMBV. The SC Fortuna and FC Eintracht also joined the association, which means that the Magdeburg Sports Association was dissolved again after only a very short existence.
