Magic Organa

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Magic Organa is a self-playing accordion that was manufactured by Hohner in the early 1930s . It has dummy keyboards and cannot be played manually. The instrument draws the musical information from a perforated piano roll that is driven by a spring mechanism . The reeds are supplied with air by pulling and pushing the bellows, just like a conventional accordion. A small additional bellows supplies the complex pneumatic valve system with negative pressure.

Optionally, other mechanically played instruments could be connected, for example a suitable drum kit.
