Mago I.
Mago I was 550-530 BC Chr. King of Carthage . He was the progenitor of the Magonids , a powerful Carthaginian aristocratic family, and founded the Carthaginian power by replacing the citizen militia with mercenary armies, in which the Carthaginians themselves only served as officers. Mago restored the Carthaginian dominance in Sardinia , which had been lost under the rule of his predecessor Malchos . His son Hasdrubal followed him in 530 BC. On the throne of Carthage.
