Mahamahopadhyaya

Mahamahopadhyaya ( Sanskrit : महामहोपाध्याय , mahāmahopādhyāya "greatest of the great teachers") is an Indian honorary title that was usually given to Sanskrit scholars. During the colonial period , the bearers had the right to participate in the durbar , where they ranked behind the titular Rajas . The Muslim equivalent is Shams-ul-Ulama.
