history

The Valley Thunder was founded in 2006 and started in the 2007 season in af2 .

The Valley Thunder won their first franchise game on March 31, 2007 with 48:40 against the Tri-Cities Fever . The two subsequent games against the Albany Conquest and the Cincinnati Jungle Kats could also be won. Even so, the team finished their debut season in third place in the East Division with just seven wins and nine losses and missed the playoffs.

In 2008 and 2009, the Valley Thunder were able to gain a victory in only five of the 32 games. Both times the postseason was out of reach.

When af2 broke up after the 2009 season, the Youngstown franchise also disappeared from the arena football map.
