Engelhardt Ice Ridge is an ice dome in the shape of a mountain ridge in Marie Byrd Land in West Antarctica . It looms between the Whillans and Kamb ice streams near the border between the Gould and Siple coasts .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2003 after the US geophysicist Hermann Engelhardt of the California Institute of Technology , who was involved in four campaigns in drilling projects of the United States Antarctic Program in the Whillans and Kamb Ice Streams between 1991 and 1996 .
