Mahou is a Spanish brewery headquartered in Madrid , which belongs to the Spanish group of companies Mahou-San Miguel .

Mahou Cinco Estrellas

Under the company name Hijos de Casimiro Mahou (translated: Children of Casimiro Mahou ), a company for the production of beer and ice cream was founded in Madrid in 1890 and in 1891 the beer brewed in Amaniel Street was marketed under the name Mahou .

In 1962 a new brewery was completed in Paseo Imperial in Madrid; the old brewery was closed in 1964.

In 1969 the beer brand Mahou Cinco Estrellas came on the market; The Mahou Negra followed in 1980 and the Mahou Premium Light in 2008 .

In November 2000 Mahou and the other large Spanish brewery San Miguel merged to form the Mahou-San Miguel group of companies .
