The Main-Kinzig-Kliniken emerged in 1997 from the own operation of the three district hospitals Gelnhausen , Schlüchtern and Bad Soden-Salmünster in the legal form of a non-profit GmbH . The sole owner is the Main-Kinzig-Kreis . Today, as a clinic at two locations, they offer inpatient and outpatient treatments in all areas of basic and specialist care. The Main-Kinzig-Kliniken are therefore responsible for quality-oriented, local health care in the central and eastern Main-Kinzig district.

The clinics are responsible for a school for nursing professions and, as a teaching hospital, take part in student training in medicine and nursing sciences .

Specialist centers are connected at both locations . The direct cooperation with the clinics and the specialists there makes further diagnostic and therapeutic measures possible if necessary and saves the patient long distances.
