Main Pyrus DMS (formerly uniVarc Callimachus and Main // Pyrus DMS ) is a free document management system . It is based on open standards to easily fit into heterogeneous environments. The system server running on a Linux - operating system . On the client side, it offers a web interface and has Java applications for Windows and Linux. The system was developed to meet the requirements of small and medium-sized companies that need long-term archiving and document management. Main Pyrus DMS consists of a server application developed in C ++ and a web application developed in PHP . The websites are defined in XML within the web application .
history
The development of Main Pyrus DMS began in 2003. At the beginning of the development it was called uniVarc. In 2005 it was renamed after Callimachus. A year later it became part of the newly founded company Main IT GmbH & Co. KG, which renamed the system to Main Pyrus DMS. Until 2007 it was developed as a closed-source application. In early 2007 it was released as free software under the terms of the GPL .
