Marjoram price

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Majorana Prize ( English Majorana Prize ) was awarded annually by the Electronic Journal of Theoretical Physics (EJTP) for excellent contributions to theoretical physics . It was named after Ettore Majorana , an Italian theoretical physicist who wrote promising work on neutrino masses and who established the marjoram equation. On the occasion of Majorana's 100th birthday in 2006, the Electronic Journal of Theoretical Physics established the award in memory of the Sicilian physicist and published a special volume on Majorana's importance for modern physics.

The prize was awarded annually from 2006 to 2012 in the form of a Majorana medal to researchers who have demonstrated particular creativity and judgment in mathematical and theoretical physics.

The prize was awarded in three different categories:

  • The most outstanding physicist
  • The best work in a special volume of the EJTP
  • The best EJTP work
