Bernhard Kuckelkorn

Bernhard Kuckelkorn (* May 1913 in Stolberg ; † September 1989 ) was Mayor of Stolberg (Rhineland) from 1952 to 1979 .

He had completed a commercial apprenticeship and was most recently head of personnel and authorized signatory at Stolberger Zink AG . In 1948 he was elected as the youngest member of the city council of Stolberg. He remained a council member for over 35 years. In 1950 he was elected deputy mayor (CDU) from 1952 to 1979. In 1973 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon and in 1979 the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic . Kuckelkorn became an honorary citizen of the city of Stolberg in May 1988. The place at the Museum Zinkhütter Hof was named after him.

Kuckelkorn died in September 1989. He left three daughters, a son and his widow.
