The Makarios Avenue is a 2 km road in Nicosia . Although the road is very heterogeneously built and is not very attractive, it is of great importance as a feeder u. a. to the old town. This is where the Hilton Hotel is located, as well as numerous branches of fashion labels and fast food chains.

history

The street was formerly called Pluto Street and was later renamed after the former Archbishop Makarios . It was the most important arterial road to Limassol and is still an important artery today. There are some older sandstone houses along the road, including the National Bank of Greece building.
