Macedonios II (Patriarch)
Saint Makedonios II. († 517 in Gangra ) was Patriarch of Constantinople from July 496 to August 511.
Makedonios was a strictly Chalcedonian Christian. For this, he was deposed in 511 on the pretext of lese majesty by Emperor Anastasios I , who had brought him into office 15 years earlier. Anastasios had already had Makedonios' predecessor Euphemios removed. Makedonios was exiled to the Black Sea coast .
