Broker Trading Information System

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Broker-Trading-Information-System ("MATIS") was an electronic trading information system of the German brokerage . It was created in cooperation with Reuters AG and the exchange broker Mathis and was used by the exchange brokers active on the German stock exchanges from the end of 1989. The system was run by the Federal Association of Price Brokers on the German Stock Exchanges.

The MATIS system was supposed to establish itself as an alternative to the electronic bank trading information system IBIS at the time , which ultimately did not succeed due to the refused connection to the settlement systems of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. In 1992, MATIS was therefore discontinued.

IBIS was the predecessor of the XETRA electronic trading system currently in use .
