Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award

The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) is a national quality award introduced by law in 1987 by the American Congress . It was named after the US Secretary of Commerce Malcolm Baldrige, who died in 1987 . The prize has a very high priority among the quality awards that exist worldwide and is awarded by the American President .

The award is presented annually to US companies in the following three categories.

  • Manufacturing companies
  • Service company
  • Small and medium-sized companies (less than 500 employees)

Focus

Excellent elements of the MBNQA are customer satisfaction and benchmarking , with which the competitiveness of the company is emphasized. Leadership, strategic planning, process management and business results also play a crucial role.
