Malcolm Mortimore (born June 16, 1953 ) is a British drummer .

Malcolm Mortimore was a member of the band Gentle Giant from 1971 to 1972 and can be heard on the album Three Friends . He played a free, eccentric and complex style that contrasts with the styles of the other two Gentle Giant drummers, Martin Smith (1970-71) and John Weathers (1972-1980).

After the release of Three Friends , Mortimore had a motorcycle accident and was initially unavailable due to a broken arm. The band replaced him with Weathers.

After Mortimore recovered, he started playing in the band GT Moore and the Reggae Guitars . In 1996 he played on Rock the Zydeco by Chris Jagger , in 2000 on Arthur Brown's album Tantric Lover .

Since 2008 Mortimore has been playing in the band Three Friends , in which two other former Gentle Giant members play, Gary Green and Kerry Minnear, and who perform among other things Gentle Giant pieces.
