Malichor is an Australian black and thrash metal band from Melbourne , which was founded in 2007 under the name Myth .
history
The band was founded in 2007 under the name Myth and emerged from the decay remnants of the group Anarazel by their members Dean aka D. Defiler (vocals) and Roman aka R. Morturus (drums). Andrew “A. Abominatus “added to all of Grimlock. After two demos , the name was changed to Malichor in 2011. The guitarist Brad “B. Exhumus “Ollis and the bass player Ben aka. B. Fleshripper added. In 2014, Onslaught Records released a compilation of older material under the name The Lost City . In January 2018 the debut album Nightmares and Abominations was released via Iron, Blood & Death Corporation .
style
According to Brian Giffin in his Encyclopedia of Australian Heavy Metal , the band plays a mixture of black and thrash metal with a lovecraft theme. Luxi Lahtinen of voicesfromthedarkside.de expected Lurkers in the Crypt also these two genres, which is here were a EP, but production remember more of a amateurish demo that with an eight-track tape recorder had been included. The production, however, fits the raw and ruthless sounding style of the group, which is reminiscent of the early Impaled Nazarene . Sargon the Terrible from metalcrypt.com summarized the music of Ancient Brew as a "dirty" mix of Black and Thrash Metal that sounds hateful, energetic and chaotic. The production is mediocre and the riffs used are standard.
