Malorix
Malorix and Verritus are the first named leaders of the Frisians in the 1st century AD.
The leaders of the Frisians asked Emperor Nero in 58 AD for the surrender of a Roman territory occupied by the Frisians. Malorix and Verritus documented their self-confidence by sitting with their entourage in the Pompey Theater unsolicited on the ranks of the senators . Nero granted them Roman citizenship , but the occupied territory was recaptured by Roman allies.
