Course and development

The approximately 500 m long road runs in SE-NW direction between Seestrasse and Nazarethkirchstrasse. It forms the center of the Malplaquetkiez. The street was created as Straße 45, Section X / 1 of the development plan and was given its current name on April 2, 1891. On the corner of Liebenwalder Straße is the Karl Schrader House , built between 1904 and 1906, which is one of the exemplary cooperative reform housing developments of the early 20th century. It was named after the founder of the Berliner Baugenossenschaft eG Karl Schrader .

In the street there are two listed Lauchhammer fountains on Malplaquet- / Utrecht Straße in the middle of the forecourt designed as an open decorative area at the corner house at Utrecht Straße 34, the second at the intersection with Utrecht Straße.
