Alhagie Mamour Jobe is a Gambian police officer. Since June 2018 he is Inspector General of Police ( English Inspector General of Police , IGP).

Life

Mamour Jobe initially worked as a teacher, and in 1981 joined the police force ( Gambia Police Force ). After the initial training, he worked as a detective, later he was a teacher at the police school. After a few stops, he returned to the police school as administrator. In 2011 he became Deputy Inspector General under Landing Kinteh .

Following the events of June 18, 2018 in Faraba Banta , in which demonstrators were killed by police gunshots, Landing Kinteh, who held another term, asked to resign on June 21, 2018. Initially, Jobe, who at this point was again appointed as Deputy Inspector General, had been given the post of Inspector General of Police on an interim basis. He was then confirmed in office two weeks later by President Barrow , effective July 9, 2018. AIG Abdoulie Sanyang has been appointed Assistant Inspector General.
