Mampruli (also Mamprule , Manpelle , Ngmamperli ) is the language of the Mamprusi in Ghana and Togo .
About 220,000 speakers (2004 SIL) live in Ghana east and west of Gambaga, in the northeast of the Northern Region .
Mampruli is also spoken in Togo.
Recognized dialects are East Mampruli and West Mampruli with an intelligibility of 50% with Dagbani . Lexical agreement is 95% with Dagbani and 90% with Farefare .
