Man (n) ometer was a scientific television series for children and young people on GDR television .

Man (n) ometer was broadcast from 1987 to 1990. The motto of the show was “something amazing, phenomenal, curious and new”. The individual episodes were each 30 minutes long and the broadcast slot was Sunday morning. A scientific topic, mostly from the fields of physics and technology, was treated per episode. The contents of Man (n) ometer were, for example, “laser technology”, “computer-controlled textile production” and “exploring the earth from space”. The main target group of Man (n) ometer were young viewers between 10 and 13 years of age.

The actor Peter Thomsen moderated the show and also took on the roles of various scientists who were portrayed in films.

The last episode aired on November 20, 1990.
