Manaën
Manaën belongs to a group of five people who are referred to in Acts 13, 1 LUT as prophets and teachers of the church in Antioch . This group also included Saul and Barnabas , who were sent out by this circle to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ (see Paul's 1st missionary journey ). It is said about Manaën that he was brought up with the sovereign Herod (meaning Herod Antipas , the sovereign of Jesus ). From this it can be concluded that he came from a noble Jewish family and grew up at the court of the Herod dynasty.
